NEW DELHI: Vinesh Phogat's heartbreaking disqualification from the Paris Olympics hours ahead of her final bout has led to questions regarding what could have gone wrong in her weight management which resulted in India missing out on a possible gold medal.
The chief medical officer (CMO) of the Indian contingent, Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, informed that her support staff comprising her personal coach from Hungary, Woller Akos, physio Ashwini Jiwan Patil, the nutritionist and the dietician did everything possible to bring Vinesh's weight down to the required level. Still, the wrestling fraternity is asking questions regarding the coaching team's failure to achieve the desired weight before the weigh-in on Wednesday morning.
