Paris Olympics bronze medallist shooter Sarabjot Singh welcomed home to the beats of dhol at Delhi airport - Watch

Shooter Sarabjot Singh is the first Indian medallist of the ongoing Paris Olympics to return home after his participation at the Games ended with a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, partnering Manu Bhaker.

The Indians defeated their South Korean opponents, Oh Ye Jin and Wonho Lee, 16-10 on Tuesday in the third-place playoff for a bronze medal. It was the second medal of the Games for India, as Sarabjot finished on the podium in his Olympic debut.

Manu, on the other hand, created history by winning her second medal in Paris, which made her the first Indian post-Indpendence to win two medals in the same edition of the Games. Manu had earlier opened India's medal account in the French capital with a bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event.

Since then, India have added a third medal to their campaign so far, also from shooting, as Swapnil Kusale won bronze in the men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event. It also marks Paris as the first edition of the Games where Indian shooters have won three medals.

While Manu still has an event, 25m Pistol, left to compete in, Sarabjot's campaign ended with the bronze medal and he returned to India on Thursday.

He was welcomed to the beats of dhol and garlanded by fans. Later, he was felicitated by Sports Minister, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, at an event.
