The pool will be one of the star attractions at the 2024 Paris Olympics as the swimming action gets underway.
Team GB hopes are high although Adam Peaty faces a big challenge in his battle to retain his 100m breaststroke gold with China’s Qin Haiyang the favourite this time around.
The target is to beat the eight medals won at the last Olympic Games and top of their wishlist is the 4x200m men’s freestyle relay, a title which GB will be defending. Ben Proud is another hopeful, in the 50m freestyle.
Once again, eyes will be on Katie Ledecky as the most successful female swimmer in history. Ariarne Titmus won gold in the 400m freestyle for Australia in Tokyo and Canadian teenager Summer McIntosh is also aiming for victory in what should be an enthralling event.
As for home favourites, France will be backing multiple world champion Leon Marchand to the hilt.
Throughout Paris 2024, swimming events are to be split between morning and evening sessions at Paris La Defense Arena.
