A mum has spoken of her heartbreak after her baby son passed away when he was born with a rare birthmark on his liver - and her joy after welcoming her second son.
Rebecca Stevenson and her husband Adam's son Leo was born at just 35 weeks on August 2, 2019. The couple was heartbroken when doctors told them their baby boy had a hemangioma - more commonly known as a strawberry birthmark - covering half his liver.
The birthmark was so large it caused his heart to swell to double its size and doctors warned the couple the tot would not survive to full term, the Daily Record reports.
