A school's decision to remove doors to the girls' and boys' toilets has left some parents saying they are unhappy. The school said the doors had been taken off in the summer in a bid to make pupils 'feel safer'.
Students noticed the change when they returned to school on Monday. They were told in assembly that they had been removed to open up the toilets and 'to keep pupils as safe as possible and improve the school environment'
But the parent of one child at Parrenthorn High in Prestwich, Bury, said it's made youngsters feel uncomfortable and is taking away their privacy, Manchester Evening News reports. "I am not happy that on return to school today my child finds that the doors to the toilets have been removed - not the cubicle doors, but the doors to the toilets," she said.
