Families in Wales, who are struggling amid increasing costs of living, will get additional funding for children's PE kits.
On Tuesday, the Welsh Government announced that the Pupil Development Grant Access scheme would be raised to £100 for a year.
Learners in all school years who receive free school meals can submit a claim over the summer of 2022 for grant funding.
The Minister for Education and Welsh Language, Jeremy Miles, revealed that the additional funding came as a response to many families struggling to pay bills in Wales.

He said: "With families facing significant cost-of-living increases, we know that household budgets will be under increasing pressure, meaning many families will be worried about how they can afford the things their children need for school.

"Today I am pleased to announce that the Pupil Development Grant Access scheme will be raised for one year only by £100 per learner eligible for free school meals. I have raised funding for PDG Access up to over £23m for 2022/23."
Currently, the PDG Access Grant allows families to use the funding for essential uniform for their children. With additional funding, they can also use the payment to cover costs for extra items, such as PE kit, school shoes and other equipment.
The announcement means that for those learners entering year 7, the grant will be worth £300, and for all other year groups the grant will be worth £225 per eligible learner.
In November of last year, the Welsh Government announced that free school meals would be made available for children that needed it within the next three years as part of Labour and Plaid Cymru'r co-operation deal.
