Parents of baby who died say their concerns were not taken seriously

Parents who were concerned about their baby felt like "hypochondriacs" before her tragic at nine-months-old.

Pearl-Nora Jacqueline Camilla Cummings was nine-months-old when she died at Arrowe Park on March 3, 2021 after becoming "floppy and lifeless" following her usual feed. At an inquest held into her death on Wednesday, parents Camilla Adamson and Jon-Luc Cummings, of West Kirby, said they felt they were not being taken seriously with their concerns.

Baby Pearl was born prematurely at 28-weeks in Birkenhead and suffered complications, including necrotising enterocolitis which required surgery. After further concerns in August 2020 of a swollen abdomen, tests revealed "nothing of concern" and she was again transferred back to Arrowe Park and discharged home.
