Parents marvel at mum's simple 1p ice lolly hack that stops kids making a mess

We all know that eating ice lollies can be messy business, especially when the weather is boiling hot. And when your little ones are trying to eat them, the issues are tenfold as they manage to get the sticky juice all over their chins without fail.

But one savvy mum has changed the game with her handy hack to stop unwanted dribbling, and other parents have been praising her - especially as it's so inexpensive.

Lisa Flom, who posts on TikTok as @ljflommom shared that there's a way to "skip the mess this summer" and she shared her handy method.

Eating an ice lolly with your kids just got a whole lot easier (@ljflommom/tiktok)
Lisa said she wish she'd known the hack as a first time mum (@ljflommom/tiktok)

In the video, Lisa shared the 'things she wished she knew as a first-time mum', as she pushed an ice lolly stick through a cupcake lining to prevent any unwanted spills.

Cupcake linings, which can be bought in a packet for £1 and so amount to approximately a penny each, can be pushed up the stick in twos or more.

This means your children can easily catch any drips before they start to stain their clothes and get all over their body.

She then showed the innovative contraption in action, and there weren't any spills in sight.

In the comments, mums praised the hack, writing: "Oh my gosh!!! I'm so doing this with my kid when she wakes up from nap!! Thank you! Lol she always complains about the mess."

Another said: "Omg yes!"

"Definitely going to try this", one mum wrote, whilst someone joked: "I need this and I'm an adult!"

And, the 1p item can also be used to stop bugs getting in your drinks during the summer months.

Simply push a straw through the bottom of the casing to create a paper lid for each glass you're drinking from.
