A school has sparked fury from parents after female pupils were taken out of class and made to isolate in a room as a punishment for the length of their skirts. Parents of the South Wigston High School students said they are enraged at the behaviour towards their daughters this week.
One mum, who wished not to be identified, said that her irate husband contacted the police after their 14-year-old daughter phoned them in tears on Monday, September 12, and told her parents she was trapped inside a room against her will. The distressed father was then made to wait two hours before his daughter was let go and he was able to take her home, Leicestershire Live reports.
She claimed that her younger daughter, 12, who has autism, was also told off about the length of her skirt, and ended up returning home with her sibling. According to the mum, the girl has been experiencing anxiety surrounding the incident and refuses to go back to school after feeling shamed by school staff.
