Parents' concern over new school gate policies at primary school in Nottinghamshire

Parents of pupils at a Nottinghamshire primary school say they are not happy with how the new term has started. Dozens of parents at Croft Primary School, Sutton in Ashfield have expressed concern over the safety and welfare of their children due to new policies being implemented for the school year.

Pupils returned to Croft Primary School for the new school year on Friday, September 2, and parents were surprised to learn they were no longer allowed on the school's playground for drop off, or through the main gate. Instead parents were asked to drop off their children at the side gate, and allow them to make their own way in.

However, many parents are frustrated as the change in policy meant they had to queue alongside and past the school on the main road during the morning rush hour. One concerned parent, Louise Allingham, hit out at the policy put in place by the new headteacher.
