Paramount+ prices, shows and movies as streaming service launches in UK

Paramount+ has arrived in the UK today, 22 June, offering a host of exclusive films, series and documentaries to rival the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus.

The new streaming service is available for £6.99 per month, or £69.90 for a year which works out slightly cheaper on a monthly basis if viewers are willing to make the commitment. There is also a seven-day free trial available for those looking to try before they buy - although customers should be aware that they will be charged for a one-month subscription if they don’t cancel before the free trial period ends, the Manchester Evening News reports .

Paramount+ will be home to several original series, including Halo, a war drama based on the 2001 video game, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and drag queen singing competition Queen of the Universe, with new episodes of each streaming every Wednesday. Elsewhere in the series offering are Yellowstone prequel 1883, crime drama Mayor of Kingstown, and The Offer - a behind-the-scenes dramatisation on the making of The Godfather, according to The Express .

The platform additionally boasts a collection of hit movie classics including Grease, Pulp Fiction, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Scream, and Castaway. As the streaming service for Paramount Pictures, Paramount+ is home to the Mission: Impossible film series starring Tom Cruise, as well as the Transformers franchise.

It will also stream new Paramount films soon after they are released in cinemas, which will include the likes of Top Gun: Maverick out now, and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One which is set to hit the big screen next year. Recent family film Clifford The Big Red Dog starring Jack Whitehall and The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum will also launch exclusively on Paramount+ later this year.

Paramount+ isn’t just home to releases from Paramount Pictures - it also features shows from Viacom CBS, which are broadcast on the likes of Nickelodeon, MTV and Comedy Central. Kids’ favourites including PAW Patrol, SpongeBob Squarepants and Rugrats, as well as new originals based on beloved characters, are also available on the platform.
