British TV viewers will soon have another streaming service to choose from next month, when Paramount launches its new service Paramount Plus in the UK on June 22.
The streaming service has been live since March 2021 in the US and has already been rolled out across Latin America, Canada and Australia, as well as Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
From next month, users will be able to stream TV programmes and films for £6.99 a month or for £69.90 a year after a seven-day free trial. Paramount Plus will be ad-free and you'll be able to sign in on two devices at the same time, plus have up to six profiles on one account at no extra cost. This means six different people can log in to use the service, but only two separate streams can play at the same time.

Many of the best Paramount Plus shows (like The Good Fight or Star Trek: Picard) currently have deals in place with other UK providers like Channel 4 and Prime Video, but parent company Paramount says it will launch with 8,000 hours worth of films and TV shows, including Paramount originals, plus entertainment from channels including Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and SHOWTIME.
The service will be available to access on desktop browser, mobiles, TVs and via the Paramount Plus app, as well as being available on Sky. Sky Cinema subscribers will get Paramount Plus included at no extra cost.
Paramount Plus is pricing itself slap bang in the middle of the services currently available in the UK. At present, Apple TV Plus is cheapest at £5.99 a month, with Now TV at £9.99 a month being the most expensive.
Amazon Prime is currently £5.99 each month, Disney Plus £7.99 and Netflix starting from £5.99.
In common with most streaming services, if you take out the service directly and later change your mind, you can cancel your subscription penalty-free at any point though this won't take effect until your next billing date, which means you'll be able to use Paramount Plus until your next payment would be due.
You can pre-register on the Paramount website, although you won't be able to use the service until 22 June.
