Paramount Animation has recently announced an exclusive, multi-year first-look development deal with writer, director, and producer Jeff Rowe. This agreement extends the successful collaboration between the studio and Rowe, following the positive reception of last summer's 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,' a film directed and co-written by Rowe.
The deal encompasses Rowe's services in development, directing, producing, and executive producing for both animated and live-action projects. This includes the upcoming sequel to 'Mutant Mayhem,' which Rowe is set to direct. The first installment of the franchise garnered over $181 million at the global box office and received favorable reviews, contributing to Paramount's consumer products business through toy sales.
Ramsey Naito, president of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation, expressed praise for Rowe's creative contributions to revitalizing the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' franchise. Naito commended the collaborative work and eagerly anticipates the next phase of their partnership.
Rowe shared his excitement about the opportunity to reimagine the beloved 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' characters and expressed gratitude towards the studio team for their support. He humorously noted the shift from pizza payments to monetary compensation as a significant change.
In addition to his work on 'Mutant Mayhem,' Rowe co-wrote and co-directed the critically acclaimed film 'The Mitchells vs. the Machines,' which became Netflix's top animated release of 2021. His previous writing credits include the Emmy-winning series 'Gravity Falls' and the Netflix animated show 'Disenchantment.'
Rowe is represented by United Talent Agency and attorney Alex Kohner at Morris Yorn.
