Paralives proves it's a true Sims 4 successor as devs desperately try to fix bug where a naked man "can appear in your household if after giving birth, you exit without saving"

Paralives.

Paralives, the charming indie life sim that plays a whole lot like The Sims 4, is finally here – and, as an Early Access title usually does, it boasts a plethora of very silly bugs, one of which the devs are desperately trying to fix.

Some bugs are sillier than others – and, no, I'm not just talking about your Paras clipping through the floor and smiling like there's absolutely nothing weird about that at all. I'm talking about the random naked dude who can show up on your property and just… live there. Use your bed. Flush your toilet. Sit on your couch. All while nude, of course. Folks over on Reddit noted the man as soon as Paralives launched: Charlie.

Just loaded back in, who is this guy?? from r/Paralives

He can jump scare players, seemingly out of the blue, and just act as a strange pseudo-family member. Although I somehow managed to evade the, erm, bug (?) myself, I'm happy to report that Paralives Studio is on it.

Over on Twitter, the team outlines as much with "an updated list of the known issues we're working on" – and, yeah, one of these issues is none other than Charlie. Sure, there are corrupted save fixes and tweaks to make playing with mods better, but the one that catches my eye (much like Charlie does himself) reads as follows: "A naked Charlie Parafolk can appear in your household if after giving birth, you exit without saving."

For now, the devs provide a solution – simply "enter the Paramaker with the cheat EditCharacter and then delete Charlie." It feels like The Sims 4 (and 3… and 2) all over again, eh? Some of the other notes amplify this feeling even more.

Just see "babies teleporting to the ocean" – another one of my faves. It's like the whole baby on the barbecue debacle, except now it's… baby by the ocean?

Anyway, the most important takeaway here is that Paralives Studio is on the case. Until a patch rolls out, though, it provides temporary fixes like the Paramaker one. The Paralives modding scene is expanding as well – NSFW and all – so I'd suggest keeping an eye on mods, too.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go try and simulate this whole Charlie situation so that I can say I was one of the (un)lucky players who witnessed him in all his unclothed glory.

The Sims rival Paralives won't have paid DLC, even after early access: "The sales we made so far will sustain us for many years."
