Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey recently shared a surprising encounter with paparazzi while filming the highly anticipated movie 'Wicked.' The two stars, portraying Glinda and Fiyero, respectively, discussed the extreme measures taken by paparazzi to capture images from the set during an interview for VMan magazine.

Grande described the filming experience with director Jon M. Chu as intimate and secretive, reminiscent of a small student project. However, their privacy was abruptly invaded when paparazzi used hand-gliders to hover over the set, attempting to capture unauthorized footage.

Bailey vividly recounted the bizarre sight of a man on a hand glider equipped with a GoPro camera flying over the set, likening him to a pterodactyl. The intrusion left Grande in disbelief, emphasizing the audacity of the paparazzi's actions.

'Wicked,' based on the popular Broadway musical, centers around the friendship between Elphaba (played by Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda, exploring themes of acceptance and popularity. The movie is set to be released in two parts, with the first installment scheduled for November 22, 2024, and the second on November 26, 2025.

During the conversation, Bailey expressed his admiration for the production, crediting the dedication of producers Marc Platt and Jon Chu for maintaining the magic of musical theater on set. Despite initial concerns about losing the enchantment of theater in the filmmaking process, Bailey was impressed by the elaborate sets and attention to detail.

The incident with the paparazzi flying over the 'Wicked' set serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by celebrities in maintaining privacy during high-profile projects. Grande and Bailey's candid discussion sheds light on the lengths paparazzi go to in pursuit of exclusive content, highlighting the need for respect and boundaries in the entertainment industry.
