Paolo Nutini reveals his favourite Glasgow pubs, eateries and the best place for a 'mental night out'

Scots singer Paolo Nutini has revealed his all time favourite haunts in Glasgow and where you can get the best pint in the city - according to him.

The Through the Echoes singer sat down for a chat with Hot Press about his latest album 'Last Night in the Bittersweet' when chat turned to his favourite pubs and eateries.

The conversation came up after Paolo spoke about his love for Celtic, and the interviewer, Jess Murray said she may be heading to Glasgow in the near future.

The 35-year-old then went on to offer his best tips for a night oot in the toon.

Firstly, the Candy chanter suggested visiting the city's southside. He said: “If you want a good Guinness, go to MJ Heraghty’s pub on the southside of Glasgow. You’ve got a few options there, but that’s the one I’ve been heading to recently for my Guinness."

But when it comes to lining your stomach, Paolo says the Merchant City is where it's at.

He said: "If you want something really nice to eat, go to Café Gandolfi. They do a take on Scottish food but with a twist."

And for a few more beverages, Paolo has a few different options, depending on the vibe of course.

He said: “It depends what you wanna do, if you wanna have cocktails, you’ve got Vroni’s and if you want to go mental at night, go to the Sub Club ."

He then laughs and says if a night in Subby is on the cards, they'd better make sure they've "f***ing got a day off the next day”.
