Panthers S Jammie Robinson becomes 1st 2023 draftee to agree to terms

This year’s 145th overall selection Jammie Robinson firmly believes there aren’t 144 draftees who better than him. Well, we know one thing for sure—there are zero who are faster than him when it comes to paperwork.

As announced on Tuesday morning, Robinson has agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers. The Florida State University safety is now the first player of the entire class, let alone the team’s own, to get his deal done.

Robinson was taken in the fifth round on Saturday afternoon by Carolina. The Cordele, Ga. native, Robinson began his collegiate career at the University of South Carolina in 2019—having amassed 135 total tackles (3.5 for a loss) and two interceptions over two seasons.

He’d move on to Florida State in 2021. As a Seminole, he recorded 183 tackles (12.0 for a loss), a sack and five picks over 15 games while earning a pair of First-team All-ACC nods in the process.

Per Spotrac, Robinson’s pact will have a total value of $4.1 million.

The Panthers also wrapped up the first deal of last year’s class, having come to terms with sixth-round pick Amaré Barno on May 3, 2022.
