It was a packed house for Ohio State on Wednesday when NFL coaches and executives attended the program’s Pro Day to watch some of the best college athletes in the country. The most touted of them being, of course, CJ Stroud.
The quarterback is viewed as one of the best quarterbacks in the country, so naturally, the Panthers sent an entire entourage to the event since they have the No. 1 pick in April’s draft. Cameras caught a brief interaction between Stroud and Carolina quarterbacks coach Josh McCown where Stroud’s competitiveness was on full display.
“We’ll find a court, play some HORSE,” McCown told Stroud.
The signal-caller didn’t want to wait, though, “It’s right here come on.” It’s hard to hear what McCown said in response, but it didn’t sound like he wanted to play right then and there.
“I’mma take his money,” Stroud said.
The quarterback certainly isn’t lacking any confidence, and it remains to be seen if he and McCown will ever get a chance to hit a court together. If the Panthers were to select Stroud with the No. 1 pick, then surely the pair would get plenty of opportunities. But the most likely alternative for Carolina is Alabama’s Bryce Young.
Whether it’s Carolina or somewhere else, one NFL team will be getting quite the competitor.
