The Carolina Panthers were hoping that starting guards Austin Corbett and Brady Christensen would be reunited on the field soon enough. But unfortunately, they’re now reunited on the shelf.
As first reported by Darin Gantt of Panthers.com on Wednesday, Christensen has been placed on injured reserve. Per the release, the third-year lineman sustained a biceps injury during the team’s season-opening 24-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons this past Sunday.

Christensen played in each of the offense’s 77 snaps in Week 1. Per Pro Football Focus, he allowed four pressures of quarterback Bryce Young in 42 pass-blocking opportunities.
As for what the offensive line will look like moving forward, starting right guard Chandler Zavala played his last two collegiate seasons as a left guard. If Zavala is moved to his more natural position on the opposite side, the Panthers could look to one of Cade Mays, Calvin Throckmorton or Nash Jensen to man the right.
