With a new head coach now onboard, the Carolina Panthers are continuing to leave behind some remnants of the old one. And on Tuesday night, they left behind Pat Stewart.
As reported by Joe Person of The Athletic, the Panthers parted ways with Stewart—their vice president of player personnel.

Stewart was hired in May of 2020, shortly after the arrival of former head coach Matt Rhule, as the director of player personnel. Prior to joining the Panthers, he worked as a national scout for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2018 to 2019 and in various roles for the New England Patriots scouting department from 2007 to 2017.
He crossed paths with Rhule twice at the college level, first at Western Carolina University in 2005 and then at Temple University in 2006—when Rhule served as an associate head coach and defensive line coach, respectively.
In the summer of 2021, Stewart—who was also an internal candidate for Carolina’s general manager opening—would then be promoted to the vice president of player personnel position.
