Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young has received a number of positive reviews from his new coaches and teammates alike. But the one he just got from Brian Burns may be the best yet.
Following the first of two installments of mandatory minicamp, the outside linebacker was asked about his impression of the first overall pick. What ensued was one heck of a bit.
“I don’t like him,” Burns said jokingly on Tuesday. “It’s hard not to like that kid. He put quite a stamp on the locker room. He walks around with this kind of humble, excuse my language, but ‘I’m humble, but I know I’m the [expletive]’ type of swag, know what I’m sayin’? He know he got it, but he humble with it.
“And he’s always happy, I don’t know. I mean, ain’t nothin’ to be mad about. But, yeah, it’s hard not to like that kid. He’s a good kid.”
“Humble, but I know I’m the sh*t”

Young, who had a solid showing on the afternoon, was bumped up to the No. 1 spot on the depth chart last week. And it’s evident, between his play and that swag, the youngster has been just as advertised in Carolina thus far.
