The Carolina Panthers are apparently feeling a little froggy with their top-30 visits.
Not long after breaking the news that the team is set to bring in Texas Christian University guard Steve Avila, Draft Network analyst Ryan Fowler reported that the Panthers will also meet with wideout Derius Davis. Davis, a fellow Horned Frog, is now the fifth known receiver Carolina is hosting for a top-30 visit—joining Ohio State’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ole Miss’ Jonathan Mingo, Purdue’s Charlie Jones and Stephen F. Austin’s Xavier Gipson.

As noted by Fowler, Davis has had success as a returner on special teams—an area the Panthers need to address for the 2023 campaign. Over his five-year stint at TCU, he averaged 22.0 yards per kick return and 15.0 yards per punt return with five total touchdowns.
Davis is coming off his most productive season as a pass catcher as well. The 5-foot-9, 168-pounder recorded bests in receptions (42), receiving yards (531) and scores (five).
