Panthers hire Bernie Parmalee as RB coach

Not all of Dave Canales’ assistants are coming over from Tampa Bay.

As announced by the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday night, Bernie Parmalee has been hired as the team’s new running backs coach. The Jersey City, N.J. native is fresh off a three-year run in the same role for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Parmalee’s NFL coaching career began in 2002, as a tight ends and special teams coach for the Miami Dolphins. His stay in Atlanta lasted for four campaigns, and included additional stints as an offensive assistant, an assistant special teams coach the special teams coordinator.
