The Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson continue to be locked in a stalemate in regards to a possible long-term extension. Jackson has been reported to want a fully-guaranteed contract, while it appears unlikely that Baltimore will budge at those demands.
The Ravens gave Jackson the non-exclusive franchise tag, allowing Jackson to negotiate with other teams and feel out his market. Multiple teams were named as potential suitors, including the possibility of the Carolina Panthers. When asked about Jackson, Carolina general manager Scott Fitterer called Jackson a great but expensive option, also admitting that the team is more focused on their draft picks at the moment, including the No. 1 overall selection that they acquired from the Chicago Bears.
Panthers GM Scott Fitterer was asked whether the team considered pursuing Lamar Jackson: "He's a great option. He's a really expensive option. But we're more focused on the draft picks right now."
