Not only is new Carolina Panthers defensive lineman DeShawn Williams coming home, but he’s coming home with the ol’ proverbial chip on his shoulder.
On Wednesday, the team agreed to terms on a deal with the Central, S.C. native and University of Clemson product. But a little earlier that day, Williams had a message—perhaps for his former employer.
Disrespect will not be taken lightly 🙏🏾

Now, the 6-foot-1, 292-pounder could’ve been referencing almost anything. Maybe someone didn’t hold the door open for him while entering a Starbucks that morning. Or maybe someone didn’t wipe off the bench press at the gym right before he used it.
Hey, it’s possible.
This reply almost 24 hours later, however, really has us thinking it was about the Denver Broncos the whole time . . .
They didn’t want me

Williams spent the last three seasons in the Mile High City. He played in 46 games for the Broncos with 34 starts, amassing 113 combined tackles and 7.5 sacks from 2020 to 2022.
Whatever the case may be, someone certainly wanted him—and it’s his hometown squad.
