Panthers bringing in CB Josh Norman for workout on Monday

The 2022 season isn’t necessarily over for Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn, who is set to undergo surgery on his broken right wrist. Nonetheless, this defense is going to need some reinforcements—and they’re calling up an old friend to help.

On Monday, Joseph Person of The Athletic reported that the Panthers are in talks with Josh Norman about a possible reunion. Just a few minutes later, interim head coach Steve Wilks confirmed the report during his afternoon presser—stating Norman will be working out for the team today with the hopes of signing him.

“The expectations—if things go according to plan—we’d love to try and sign him and get him on the roster.”

Norman was drafted by Carolina in the fifth round of the 2012 draft. He played four seasons for the organization, a run that culminated in an All-Pro 2015 campaign.

The 35-year-old corner last played with the San Francisco 49ers last season, where he recorded 49 tackles, an interception and seven forced fumbles over 15 games.
