Dubai: Wicket-keeper and batter Rishabh Pant leapfrogged senior teammate Virat Kohli to claim sixth spot in the ICC Test rankings for batters, following his brilliant 99-run knock against New Zealand in the first Test.
Pant jumped three spots in the rankings, surpassing star batter Kohli, now ranked eighth.
England's star Joe Root remains at the top of the Test batter rankings, followed by New Zealand's Kane Williamson (second position), England's Harry Brook (3rd position) Yashasvi Jaiswal (fourth) and Australia's Steven Smith.

India pacer Jasprit Bumrah remains the number one Test bowler.

New Zealand's Matt Henry was jumped two places to a career-high ninth after an eight-wicket haul in the eight-wicket victory over India. His teammate Will O'Rourke (rose two spots to 39th) is also rewarded for his seven wickets from the same Bengaluru Test.
Spinners R Ashwin (2nd spot) and Ravindra Jadeja (7th) are other bowlers from India who are in top ten in Test rankings for bowlers.
