Panerai, the watch manufacturer best known for its dive watches, has just launched its new Submersible PAM01756 timepiece. Bringing many of its historical features into the modern day, including its no-date dial, the Panerai Submersible PAM01756 also marks an exciting first for the brand.
The new Panerai Submersible PAM01756 is the first watch in the Submersible line-up to feature a 44mm case with a metal bracelet. This style of bracelet dates back to Panerai’s bracelet designs from 1999. Its construction includes a crown protective bridge and alternating finishes so the links look different in certain lights.
What’s more, the bracelet of the Panerai Submersible PAM01756 has a Quick Length Adjustment feature which is being introduced to the Submersible collection for the first time. This allows you to extend the watch’s bracelet by 2mm on each side without having to use tools or remove any links.
Measuring 44mm, the Panerai Submersible PAM01756 isn’t small by any means, but the brand has found this sizing to be extremely popular with its wearers. The case is made from polished stainless steel, and is contrasted by a blue ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel, designed for underwater use.
The dial of the Panerai Submersible PAM01756 comes in a black sun-brushed colour and white numerals and hands. To enhance the visibility, the hands and markers feature Super-LumiNova that glow green, while the bezel’s 12 o’clock dot and the minute hand shows up in blue, allowing you to read actual time and diving time.
The black small seconds counter sits at nine o’clock and has an azurage pattern. What the dial doesn’t have is a date, which is an important historical feature from Panerai. Before 1998, Panerai’s watches didn’t display the date in accordance with the Italian Navy, and the new Panerai Submersible PAM01756 reflects this history and ensures the watch is dedicated to reading time rather than anything else.
Powered by the P.980 calibre movement, the Panerai Submersible PAM01756 has a three day power reserve and is water resistant up to 500 metres. It also comes with a stop-second function which stops the seconds hand when you pull out the crown lever.
