Pamela Anderson joins cast of Liam Neeson's Naked Gun reboot

Pamela Anderson has signed up to star opposite Liam Neeson in the new Naked Gun reboot.

The original police comedy, Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! was released in 1988 and starred the late Leslie Nielsen as the loveable but hapless Detective Frank Drebin. It was a box office hit and spawned two sequels in the 90s.

While there have been rumbles of resurrecting the franchise for years, it was finally greenlit in 2022 helmed by director Akiva Schaffer.

The new iteration, which is being distributed by Paramount, has been slated for release on July 18, 2025.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, former Baywatch star and Playboy pin-up Anderson, 56, will play Neeson’s character Drebin’s love interest, akin to the role played in the original by Priscilla Presley, with a mix of sexiness and goofiness.

The former wife of singing legend Elvis Presley previously told the Standard after the reboot was first announced, that she had no desire to be part of it.

“No, I won’t [be in it]! I wouldn’t do it really if I was asked because you don’t fix something that’s already fixed,” she said.

“That movie I don’t think can be rebooted in the way that Leslie Nielsen and I did it. It was just a great relationship and friendship and we got along great on the set and that was just all fun and what a great experience.”

At the time, only Neeson was attached to star, with Presley, 78, saying she couldn’t imagine him stepping into Nielson’s shoes.

“Now, in this one, gosh, the actors who are playing the characters, I can’t see it visually. Maybe it will come across great, but I wouldn’t be a part of it,” she added.
