Pamela Anderson felt 'humiliated' by TV series about her leaked sex tape with Tommy Lee

Pamela Anderson has opened up about how she felt after her life story was portrayed in the Disney+ series Pam & Tommy.

The 55-year-old was thrown back into the limelight last year when the series, which focuses on her sex tape with her ex-husband Tommy Lee, was released.

In the show Pamela is played by 33-year-old actress Lily James, who wrote a letter to the former Baywatch star saying she wanted nothing more than to honour her.

Pamela says she felt "completely humiliated" over the tape and violated by the makers of Pam & Tommy, but added that she doesn't blame Lily for taking on the role.

"It’s not her fault; it’s a job. But whoever created it – well, it just feels like something else stolen," she said in a new interview.

Pamela added that the creators of the show, Hulu, had never got in touch with her about portraying her story.

After her sex tape was leaked, Bob Guccione of Penthouse offered her $5million (£4.1million) for the rights to the tape. She declined.

Pamela tried to sue IEG – the illegal distributors of the tape – for invasion of privacy but quickly found out she had no rights.

"I didn’t know that I was going to be completely humiliated. I remember walking into the room – all these guys in there. They had all these naked pictures of me.

"And the lawyers basically said: you’re in Playboy. You have no right to privacy," she told The Guardian as she recalled the legal battle after the tape's release.

Pamela is now awaiting the release of her new Netflix documentary series in which she can tell her own story.

The streaming giant recently released the trailer for Pamela's new documentary, which provides her own account of the sex tape scandal.

Speaking in Pamela, A Love Story, the actress said: "I blocked that stolen tape out of my life in order to survive and now that it’s all coming up again, I feel sick.

"I want to take control of the narrative for the first time."

Her new documentary will also follow Pamela's rise to fame and will use footage from the star's personal archives.

The film will feature interviews with Pamela as well as new images from her collection and notes from her journals.

Ryan White will direct the film while Pamela's son Brandon Thomas Lee will act as a producer alongside Jessica Hargrave and Julia Nottingham.

The documentary will be released on the streaming service on January 31 and coincides with the release of her memoir Love, Pamela.
