Palworld 1.0's first update stops teleporting from temporarily freezing your game and save data being "unintentionally discarded after certain operations"

Palworld 1.0's first patch is here, and although its list of changes can hardly compare to the monstrously long patch notes that came with the survival game's exit from early access, Pocketpair has made some key bug fixes across all platforms that should make the experience much more enjoyable.

As outlined in a post on Twitter, Palworld patch 1.0.1 includes just four tweaks to Pocketpair's survival game. First up, Pal tamers should now have a bit more regard for fire safety – an "issue where the burning status could continue after touching a campfire" has now been fixed. Maybe don't go around touching campfires in the first place, though.

The remaining fixes are for slightly more serious issues. For one, Pocketpair has now ironed out a problem "where save data could be unintentionally discarded after certain operations." It doesn't explain what these "certain operations" were, but regardless, your save data is now safe.

Speaking of save data, it turns out that the PS5 version of the game was previously subject to "a save error" that could "repeatedly occur when attempting to return to the title screen." You guessed it, that's now been fixed, too.

Finally, if you've been playing Palworld on Xbox, you might have noticed the game may sometimes "freeze for approximately 30 seconds after teleporting." Now, you can teleport without a care in the world, without being slowed down by an annoying wait afterward.

Palworld 1.0 has had a phenomenal start – the update saw the survival game's concurrent Steam player numbers rocket, soaring past 855,000 during its first weekend. It's a number that would have put Palworld within the top 15 largest Steam peaks of all time, if it hadn't already secured third place with its monstrous two million plus concurrent players back near the start of early access.

Needless to say, Pocketpair's efforts are certainly paying off, and it doesn't sound like the devs are slowing down any time soon. The studio's head of publishing and communications, John 'Bucky' Buckley, recently teased that the devs have "a few other little secret things in development," noting that "the IP is gonna keep growing."

Clearly, those are things beyond the already announced Palfarm farming sim and Palworld ~ More Than Just Pals dating sim, so fans have plenty to look forward to in the future.

Palworld was originally a "factory game like Satisfactory" until it evolved into an open-world survival crafting hit, lead says.
