Palworld 1.0 sounds massive as lead teases "27 pdf pages" of patch notes coming to Pocketpair's early access survival game

Palworld character wincing at sunlight.

Developer Pocketpair's made no secret that its incoming Palworld 1.0 release is shaping up to be huge, but my backlog is now quivering after finding out the team currently has 27-pages worth of patch notes ready for launch.

Announced during this summer's marketing extravaganza, Palworld is ending its incredibly popular early access tenure on July 10, 2026 with all-new areas to explore, narrative meat to chew on, and Pals to tame. The creature-collecting survival game has already ballooned quite a bit in the last two years, but the studio's upcoming update sounds scarily large.

Pocketpair Publishing lead and communications manager John 'Bucky' Buckley recently tweeted about trying to wrestle down Palworld 1.0's patch notes. "Losing my mind trying to make nice patch notes for Palworld 1.0," he writes. "Who'd have thought that, *checks notes*, 27 pdf pages of changes and additions would be hard to make neat."

The team has practically shouted from the rooftops before about how the Palworld 1.0 update will have more new Pals and be "bigger in scale" than any previous content drop, and the changes are so deeply embedded that Pocketpair recommends starting fresh with a new save file. Next month's full launch hasn't exactly been shy about its size, then, but 27 pages really puts into perspective just how extensive these changes might be.

We won't need to wait too long to find out what's in those patch notes – Palworld leaves early access on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, and PS5 next month.

Arc Raiders and Marathon aren't "dead" just because their concurrent player count has dropped, Palworld lead says – but he's "not denying that some games do 'die.'"
