Palworld 1.0 sounds huge as Pocketpair lead promises more new Pals than "ever added before in any one update"

Palworld has had quite the last few days as Summer Game Fest lifted the veil on the hotly anticipated 1.0 release date – a date that's just a mere month away now.

Yes, that's right – Palworld 1.0 arrives on July 10, bringing with it various changes and, of course, additions, like new Pals. Of all the features I've been dreaming up myself for the big update, the potential of different themed Pals has been on my mind the most, honestly… and how could it not be? It's the same with Pokemon and every other creature collector, after all, and thankfully, Pocketpair seems to be cooking up quite the Pal-shaped storm.

A recent online thread from global communications lead and Pocketpair publishing lead John "Bucky" Buckley insinuates as much, as he shows off one of the apparently "many many many new Pals you can meet in Palworld 1.0" – a juggling jester-esque cutie dubbed "Dupin."

Not only does that original post imply we're getting loads of Pals in 1.0, but a comment from Bucky in response to a fan asking for an "estimate" solidifies it.

"More than we've ever added before in any one update," writes the developer – and oh, be still my Pal-loving heart. Am I now illogically looking forward to some sort of new variant akin to Pokemon's Fairy type? Erm, maybe… but, a girl can dream, right?

Regardless of what kinds of Pals we get, though, it's exciting news. Heck, there are already nearly 200 Pals in the game as it is, and that's obviously no small number by any means.

It sounds like we can keep our eyes on Bucky's account, as well as the one for Palworld itself, for more Palposting in the near future, as he warns that "I would recommend muting" the latter "until 1.0 drops" if you don't want to see new Pal spoilers. Does that mean more Pal reveals akin to Dupin's? It's sure looking that way.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some data to wipe as per Pocketpair's advice that we "should" ahead of 1.0 – and, uh, there's a lot of data there that's not exactly easy to let go of.

Searching for something else to wishlist? Here are the best new games coming this year and beyond to look forward to.
