Pakistan has agreed to play India in the Twenty20 World Cup match scheduled to take place in Colombo this Sunday, February 15.
The decision will come as a relief to national governing bodies everywhere, including Cricket Australia. The fixture, which attracts huge television audiences, underpins the ICC's $A4.4billion Indian broadcast deal with rights to World Cups sold on the understanding they will meet at least once.
If the match had not taken place there could have been significant financial repercussions.
