A Paisley mobility service will be hosting its own Tea and Blether in order to make the town centre as dementia friendly as possible.
Shopmobility Paisley and District will join 11 other local businesses in the town that are also looking to support the cause.
The staff and volunteers had a training session on dementia awareness, organised by Paisley First, to help support World Alzheimer’s Day on Wednesday, September 21.

Karen Miller, manager at Shopmobility Paisley and District, said: “It’s important that more support is available to those with dementia and their families, so we are delighted to be part of this event organised by Paisley First.
“If you are in Paisley town centre on Wednesday, September 21 why not pop in and have Tea and a blether with us – we’ve got the kettle on and the cupcakes will be waiting for you.”
The event runs from 10am until 4pm at Shopmobility’s base in the Paisley Centre Car park - located on the ground floor - where as well as tea there will also be cupcakes made specially for the occasion.
The centre is not open on Sundays but people can hire equipment overnight for a nominal cost, £1 for a wheelchair and £5 for a scooter.
