Two Queensland men have been ordered to stand trial after an argument over drugs allegedly ended in a double murder.
Adam Jayson Bird and Keera Power faced Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday for a committal hearing, each charged with murdering Daytona James Paul, 23, and Aaron Davis, 37, at Caboolture north of the city on April 17, 2021.
The court last month heard testimony from a forensic pathologist who said Mr Paul died from a bullet wound from a gun fired at close range, possibly while the end of the barrel was pushed against his chest.
Bird's barrister, Kerry Copley, and Power's barrister, Jakub Lodziak, told the court on Wednesday that they both conceded their respective clients had prima facie cases to answer on two counts of murder and one count of drug trafficking.
Magistrate Peter Saggers ordered that both defendants stand trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court at a date to be set by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The drug trafficking charges related to the pair allegedly unlawfully trafficking in methamphetamine in the month before the alleged murders.
Both defendants were not required to say anything or enter a plea and replied "no" when asked if they wished to do so.
Power was also committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court for two counts of drug possession at Eagle Farm and one count of supplying the drug buprenorphine to a correctional centre inmate at Wacol in April 2022.
Magistrate Peter Saggers also ordered that Power stand trial in the Brisbane District Court on the charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice via allegedly providing a false declaration to police prosecutors at Redcliffe between April and July 2021.
Bird and Power were both remanded in custody.
The pair are also facing charges for drug possession and Bird faces charges for unlawful possession of ammunition and a shortened firearm, which will all remain before the Magistrates Court and have been adjourned to next year.
