Paige VanZant sparks brawl after confronting Brandi Rhodes in wrestling appearance

Paige VaZant ran from backstage to spark a furious brawl with All Elite Wrestling co-star Brandi Rhodes, prompting the entire dressing room descended on the ring.

The former UFC star fought at flyweight and strawweight during her career and has over three million followers on social media.

Back in August 2020, VanZant signed an exclusive deal to fight with bare-knuckle boxing promotion BKFC but has previously made appearances in wrestling.

She returned to wrestling company AEW last night sparking a clash with Rhodes in the ring after she was confronted by recent rival American Top Team Leader Dan Lambert.

Rhodes slapped Lambert which caused VanZant to burst out from backstage, sprinting down the ramp and entering the ring.

She made a beeline for Rhodes by picking her up and crashing her into the corner buckles before crashing her into them.

This caused the female locker room of wrestling talent at AEW to empty from backstage with several co-stars charging into the ring to break up the brawl.

The pair were held apart in opposite corners screaming and shouting while tensions were de-escalated with the crowd delighted and cheering as VanZant continued her pursuit.

Officials also stepped in alongside the female stars as VanZant was carried to the other side with Rhodes continuing to shout at her opponent as she left the ring.

VanZant first made her appearance in AEW last year appearing with fighters from American Top Team, before attacking high-profile star Chris Jericho the following week.

The female star fought the likes of Rose Namajunas and Rachael Ostovich during her UFC career which dates back to her debut in 2014.

She made her bare-knuckle boxing debut last year after making the switch from the UFC but was defeated in her two bouts against Britain Hart and former cage-rival Ostovich.

However promoter Paul Feldman has since stated that she will make a return to the bare-knuckle scene with a date targeted in April.

“She’s going to be fighting again,” Feldman told MMAFighting. “We were thinking about throwing her on the KnuckleMania card, too.

"I thought it was too much and we needed to just spread it out a little. I don’t have an exact date but I’d love to get her back in April.

"It would be great to get her back and there’s a lot of talent out there that would be good opponents for her, April-May-ish.

“So we’re going to be talking to [VanZant's manager] Malki Kawa and hopefully lock that in but we’ve already started the preliminary conversation. She knows that she’s going to get ready to fight soon.”

VanZant is married to Bellator star Austin Vanderford and has previously stated her desire to compete alongside her husband in the promotion during an MMA return.

However she has continued her other ventures which include wrestling and making money through her 'premium content' subscription service.
