A paedophile found with more than 1,000 indecent images of children was also found in possession of a stun gun and live ammunition he was prohibited from owning. He also possessed prohibited images which depicted cartoons of children being abused.
Lyndon Davies, 60, was visited by police at his home in Swansea on July 1 last year. Electronic equipment was seized and various images of children being sexually abused were discovered.
A sentencing hearing at Swansea Crown Court on Wednesday heard a total of 408 category A images were discovered along with 231 category B images and 455 category C images. A total of 7,000 prohibited images of children were also found.

But during a search of Davies' property police discovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition. Various live round of ammunition were seized by police as well as air rifles, a crossbow, a Taser weapon disguised as a torch, and two stun gun-type devices.
Davies, of Townhill, later pleaded guilty to possession of indecent and prohibited images of children, possessing a weapon for discharge of noxious liquid, and possessing ammunition for a firearm without a certificate. The court heard the defendant was of previous good character.
In mitigation David Leathley said his client was in ill health and would struggle with the demands of immediate custody. He said Davies has had one of his legs amputated due to a combination of health problems and has also had a stoma fitted.
Sentencing, Recorder Simon Mills said: "Indecent images depict real children being sexually abused by evil people and the reason why they take pictures of that is so people can look at them on the internet and it's a serious matter. Clearly you are someone with an interest in firearms and have been in the past a member of a rifle club and the like. There's an element here of having given that up because of your health you retained items you no longer needed but you had no need at all for a charged-up stun gun. It's a prohibited item."
Davies was sentenced to a total of 20 months imprisonment suspended for 18 months. He was ordered to carry out a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement and was made subject to sex offender notification requirements and a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years.
