Padraig Harrington has revealed that he spoke about the LIV/PGA merger with Phil Mickelson after they ended their second rounds on Friday.
The pair didn't speak about the controversial deal while on the course, with Harrington insinuating that discussing a topic like that could become a distraction.
The Dubliner did confirm that the topic came up in a post-round debrief. The duo spoke about the deal for around five minutes as Harrington was eager to get some things 'off his chest.'

"You don't want to get into that on the golf course,” he said. “Anything that you're emotionally involved in. The chat we had golf course it's all like fun joking.
"But we did chat for about five minutes afterwards because I was trying to get it off my chest”
The new deal between the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia and the PGA Tour has opened the door for LIV rebels like Mickelson to return to the PGA Tour. When asked about this possibility, Harrington said he would welcome Mickelson back but was keen to stress that he didn't want to speak on the six-time major winner's behalf.
"He’s my friend. He’s guaranteed at least one warm welcome.”
“I have no idea (if he will return). I don’t want to put words in his mouth.”
Mickelson missed the cut and the chance to complete the grand-slam when he shot three-over on Friday to finish his tournament early.
Harrington on the other hand shot a brilliant 69 on Friday to sneak over the cutline and will play alongside Cam young on Saturday.
