Padraig Harrington brought his season's earnings to close to €4.5m after claiming his fourth PGA Tour Champions victory of the year in the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
Harrington, 51, capped a superb debut season by blitzing the field at Phoenix Country Club on Sunday, shooting a record equalling 27-under par Tour Champions total to win by seven shots.
To have any chance of leapfrogging Kiwi Steven Alker into first place in the Charles Schwab Cup race, Harrington had to win in Arizona and he was a class above the field over the 72-hole event, finishing up with a six-under par 65.

But Alker did enough to hold onto top spot, finishing in solo third to keep him ahead of Harrington to earn the $1m bonus on offer.
However Harrington pocketed a $500,000 bonus for finishing second in the season-long standings.
And, having earned €440,000 for winning Sunday's event, it was a hugely profitable week for the three-time major champion, who also added the US Senior Open title to his collection in 2022.
Harrington's earnings on the regular Tours this season comes to €371, 127 but, on the PGA Tour Champions he has amassed $3,564,424 in prize money having also been victorious in the DICK'S Sporting Goods and Ascension Charity Classic tournaments.
Harrington's final round effort saw him tie Jack Nicklaus' PGA Tour Champions record for the lowest 72 hole score.
And he quipped afterwards "Kind of glad I didn't beat him", adding that Alker - who never won on the regular PGA Tour - was "a truly deserved winner" of the season-long race.
"It's not like he's just come flash in the pan at the end of the year and won a couple events and all of a sudden won the Schwab Cup," Harrington commented.
"The pressure's been on him right from the start of the year all the way through.
"He had a lead and several of us were catching him all year. It's very impressive that he's not just held on, but he's won in style."
The Irishman will compete in the PNC Championship in Orlando next month.
