Paddy Pimblett vs Jared Gordon scorecards released from controversial UFC fight

The scorecards from Paddy Pimblett 's controversial decision win against Jared Gordon at UFC 282 have been released.

'The Baddy' picked up his fourth successive UFC win at the Las Vegas event but it was met with controversy as many fans felt like Gordon should have been awarded the win. Official fight stats show that Gordon landed more punches than Pimblett over three rounds, whilst scoring three takedowns and racking up over six minutes of control time.

Official scorecards from the fight have now been released as judges Doug Crosby and Ron McCarthy both gave rounds one and two to Pimblett, whilst judge Chris Lee scored the first round for Gordon and the last two for the Scouser. Pimblett responded to criticisms about the decision at the post-fight press conference by insisting that he won every round of the fight.

How did you score the fight between Paddy Pimblett and Jared Gordon? Let us know in the comments section below

"I know I won that fight. I deal in facts and I won a unanimous decision, it wasn't even like it was a split decision. Look at his face and then look at mine, fights get scored on damage now and I landed a lot more damage. After looking at the stats after the fight, I think I won all three rounds," Pimblett said.

"He can take a punch, I hit him with some big shots and he kept coming forward. Hats off to Jared, he's a phenomenal fighter and phenomenal. I'm pretty happy because I've just done my first ever three five minute rounds in the UFC against a tough opponent who has good cardio."

UFC boss Dana White was critical of Gordon's decision to stall for the entire third round and thinks that referee Herb Dean should have separated the fight when no action was taking place. "I thought that Jared Gordon’s gameplan going into the third round was horrible," he said.

"You think you won the first two rounds with the judges? How do you know that? Why go in there and throw away the third round instead of fighting your a** off, trying to get the win. I have to go after the ref too. A big fight, co-main event, the crowd is going crazy and you’re going to let them stand against the fence for the entire fight?"
