Paddy Pimblett's opponent told he had won seconds before decision was announced

Jared Gordon has revealed that Joe Rogan told him he beat Paddy Pimblett just moments before losing a controversial decision to the Brit.

Pimblett remained unbeaten in the UFC earlier this month with a points win against Gordon in Las Vegas, but the decision was heavily criticised as many fans felt the American should have won. An investigation has since been launched into a judge from the fight, Doug Crosby, following a scorecard that he gave just one day earlier at a Bellator event in California.

Just before UFC announcer Bruce Buffer read the official decision for the co-main event clash, Gordon said that longtime commentator Rogan told him he'd won. "When the fight was over, I'm like alright I did enough. Joe Rogan was like, 'yeah, you got this, you got this' I was like 'alright, Joe is saying it, I guess I won," Gordon said on the Believe You Me podcast.

"When they said it was a unanimous decision, I thought I had won. When they said 29-28, I thought 'ok, it may have been a little closer because it could have been 30-27 after watching it back, but I can understand 29-28. Then they said his name and I was like 'the world is conspiring against me'. It is what it is, there's nothing I can do to change it. It's out of my hands, I'm just trying to take the good from it and roll with it because it gives me a lot of momentum."

'The Baddy' issued an X-rated response to his critics after the fight whilst insisting that he won every round of the fight. It marked the first time Pimblett had gone the distance in his UFC career, having previously picked up stoppage wins against Jordan Leavitt, Kazula Vargas and Luigi Vendramini.

Gordon's gameplan for the fight was questioned by UFC president Dana White, who thinks 'Flash' should have been more active in the final round. The American has suggested a possible rematch with Pimblett at the UFC's upcoming London event in March, but he doesn't think the fight will be made.

"The one round that people saw I threw away, which was the third, was the only round that two of the judges gave me. There's no explanation for the scorecards, I thought they were really strange. I already threw the idea of a rematch out there to the UFC, but I doubt that will come to fruition. I would fight him in London, at this point I don't care where I fight him."
