Paddy Pimblett has called for Elon Musk to take over Twitter after his account was suspended by the platform just hours before winning at UFC London.
Pimblett picked up his third consecutive UFC win by submitting Jordan Leavitt on Saturday night in London. Just hours before 'The Baddy' made his ringwalk at The O2 arena, his Twitter account was suspended moments after he lost his verified status on the platform. Pimblett reacted to his account being suspended by urging Tesla boss Elon Musk to go through with his purchase of Twitter.
"What did they say, because my first account got suspended and they've only just realised that @theufcbaddy is me," Pimblett said. "How? What spaceman runs your internet website? Elon Musk, buy twitter lad and let's box this." Musk was in talks to buy Twitter for a staggering $44billion, but terminated the deal earlier this month.
Pimblett is very active on social media and often gets into arguments with his critics, admitting he can’t help but fire back at his trolls on platforms such as Twitter and Instagram. After making his UFC debut last September, ‘The Baddy’ lost his original Instagram account with over 750,000 followers for “violating community rules".
His Twitter account later suffered the same fate for also violating guidelines on the platform. Pimblett has previously slammed Instagram and Twitter for giving his trolls more support than him. The Liverpudlian said he often reports hateful comments left on his page only, but claims that social media platforms take no action on the trolls.

Pimblett’s love-hate relationship with social media was also shown after he knocked out Luigi Vendramini in his UFC debut last September. Following his first-round knockout of Luigi Vendramini, Pimblett called out Instagram for suspending his account: "I'm not really calling anyone out, I just want to call out a company. Instagram, give me my account back, you lizards," he said.
The Liverpudlian's win against Leavitt marks his second of the calendar year at The O2 arena having submitted Kazula Vargas at the venue in March. Pimblett called out Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg after that win, stating: "I’m going to punch your head in, I am sick of you. Sick of you shutting my Instagram accounts down when all I do is help charities and help people with mental health problems."
