Paddy McGuinness may now be known for being a TV presenter but he has revealed his little-known job before finding fame. The Bolton-born star rose to fame with the help of his pal Peter Kay, who invited him to appear in his programmes That Peter Kay Thing, Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere.
But taking to social media earlier this week, Paddy said it was 'mind blowing as he revealed what he used to do for work as he appeared to show his support for the junior doctors' strike. Around 50,000 junior doctors in England are walking out of their jobs until Saturday (April 15), demanding pay rises in line with inflation.
A new campaign from the British Medical Association says junior doctors starting work in hospitals earn £14.09 per hour in their basic pay packet – which does not include additional payments for weekend or overnight pay. The union claims junior doctors in England have seen a 26 percent real-terms pay cut since 2008/09 because pay rises have been below inflation.

It is asking for a full pay restoration that the Government has said would amount to a 35% pay rise – which ministers have said is unaffordable. Paddy was keeping up with the strike action on the news as he took a picture of his TV screen in his Cheshire home and posted it to Twitter.
It is then when the 49-year-old revealed how he used to earn a similar sum in his job before his comedy and TV career. "I’m shocked Junior Doctors are on a £14 hourly wage?" he started his post. "I find that mind blowing, considering I wasn’t far behind that teaching Boxercise classes in the early noughties."
Paddy then added: "Are you shocked by this? The Dr’s pay that is, not the Boxercise? #JuniorDoctorsStrike," before he was flooded with responses.
Meanwhile, over the weekend, Paddy made a cheeky public quip to his ex-wife Christine after she took their kids away on a half-term break with the help of her mum. The 35-year-old shared pictures of some of the outdoor activities she'd been partaking in, and thanked her mum for offering a pair of helping hands with the children as they spent some time away.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Christine wished her followers a Happy Easter alongside her string of snaps, which started with a photograph of herself on a bike with a child carrier attached. The model, who announced her split from Paddy back in July, wrote: "Wishing you all a wonderful Easter from my little chicks to yours! That was a lovely little family break now mummy is exhausted and definitely deserves an adults only holiday!
"Massive thank you to my mum, the best nanny for the extra hands and ears on this trip." But it wasn't long before Paddy commented on the post, writing: "You didn’t once pedal that!!!" Christine was quick to reply back, and took aim at her ex-husband, writing: "Don’t chat [poo emoji].
"I’ve done about 50 miles with children in there this weekend. I’m done in!" But Paddy wasn't letting it go as he just as promptly replied back: "Tell my lungs that!"
