Former Dublin star Paddy Christie is set to take over as Longford football boss.
Ballymun Kickhams man Christie has been recommended by the Longford GAA Committe and is set to be ratified by the County Board.
Christie was part of a Declan Shaw led team in the running for the Mayo job, which lost out to Kevin McStay and his management team.

Former Sligo star Dessie Sloyan was also part of that package and will join Christie as a coach in Longford.
Ex Leitrim player James Glancy is also included after working with Andy Moran in his native county last year.
Christie had been working with David Power in Tipperary as under-20 manager and a defensive coach.
He was part of the Premier backroom team that led the county to a shock Munster title win in 2020, bridging an 85 year gap.
All Star defender Christie - a primary school principal - has considerable managerial experience under his belt, having also worked with Dublin minors for two years and extensively in his own club.
Christie replaces Billy O’Loughlin, who left the Longford job after one season, citing increasingy work commitments abroad.
The Longford County Board stated that Laois man O’Loughlin “brought a new level of professionalism” to their senior inter-county side.
Christie will become Longford’s third manager in three seasons.
O’Loughlin came in for Longford attacking legend Padraic Davis and was the final inter-county football appointment last year, taking the reins at the end of November.
Longford retained their Division 3 status this year with two wins and a draw from seven games, surviving on points difference at the expense of Laois.
They made little headway in the Championship, losing out to Westmeath in Leinster and Fermanagh in the Tailteann Cup.
