Welcome to the eighth day of training camp for the Green Bay Packers. After a shorter, lighter volume practice on Tuesday, Matt LaFleur’s team is expected to ramp it up on Wednesday. More 1-on-1s and more 11-on-11 work can be expected as the Packers inch closer to the team’s Family Night practice at Lambeau Field on Saturday night.
So, what will Day 8 bring at Ray Nitschke Field?

Despite the expected heat and humidity, LaFleur is expecting to run a long practice with a lot of reps. Said player were a little lethargic at times Tuesday, and Wednesday’s work in the heat could be a “gut check.”
LaFleur had comments on nine different players. Read more here.

Live news and updates from practice
Another day with the first-team offense at right guard for first-round pick Jordan Morgan, and Anthony Johnson Jr. is getting a turn at first-team safety, per Wes Hodkiewicz.
The rise of Romeo continues:
Plenty more 1-on-1 notes coming in today’s story, but Romeo Doubs beat Jaire Alexander twice again today and the first time was CLEAN. Jayden Reed also looked good against Keisean Nixon. Love hit him for a deep TD down the left side after Reed got good separation.

Potential injury to watch: Rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper appears to be done for the day, per Andy Herman.
Another good day for Jordan Morgan in 1-on-1s.
Jordan Morgan certainly looks the part in 1v1. Beat Devonte Wyatt in 2 of 3 reps. Also won his only rep against TJ Slaton. Morgan’s ability to adapt and mirror is uncanny. Comes from good feet, the book on him when #Packers drafted him in the first round.

An interception for Xavier McKinney in move the ball.
Jordan Love throws it right to Xavier McKinney over the middle during move the ball period and McKinney holds onto the INT a day after dropping an easy one. Looked like McKinney fumbled as he got up and the offense recovered, though.

Another big play for Jordan Love and Christian Watson.
On third-and -6, Christian Watson runs behind Keisean Nixon down left sideline, and Jordan Love does not miss. Drops it perfectly to Watson in stride over his shoulder for about 40 yards. Their second deep ball connection early in camp.

Practice ends with Jordan Love leading a game-winning touchdown drive in the two-minute, per Rob Demovsky. Love hit Dontayvion Wicks for an 11-yard touchdown pass to finish the drive, and then hit him again for the go-ahead two-point conversion. Offense wins the day.
Practice No. 8 goes the longest so far at 2 hours and 8 minutes.
Ends with a successful 2 minute drive by Love, who scrambled for 22 and then hit Wicks for an 11 yard TD. Was a no kicking day so they went for 2 and Love hit Wicks again for a 29-28 win. https://t.co/yQBqMBHFWO pic.twitter.com/iVSgNpw7DC
