With a roster spot available after placing Sammy Watkins on injured reserve, the Green Bay Packers signed running back Patrick Taylor from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Saturday.
Taylor, now in his third year in Green Bay, was elevated from the practice squad to the gameday roster for Week 2. He played eight snaps on special teams against the Bears.
According to Pro Football Focus, Taylor played three snaps on kickoff return, three snaps on kickoff coverage and two snaps on punt coverage.
Kylin Hill (knee) remains on the PUP list, so Taylor will operate as the third running back on the roster behind Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, two high-usage players for the Packers offense.
Taylor has played in 10 career regular-season games. He rushed 23 times for 89 yards, including his first career NFL touchdown, last season.
The Packers originally signed Taylor as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis in 2020.
Rookie running back Tyler Goodson is the only running back left on the Packers practice squad.
