Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers summed up New England Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon rather succinctly on Thursday.
Judon could be an area of trouble for the Packers’ offensive line. The prolific pass-rusher has three sacks on the season after totaling 12.5 sacks last year. He has provided a spark to the Patriots’ pass-rushing unit. Rodgers knows the Packers will need to watch out for the pass-rusher when the two teams go toe-to-toe on Sunday.
The Packers are in the middle of the league in terms of sacks given up this season. They have allowed eight on the year. The Patriots defense may need to play a large factor in this game, as the offense could be shorthanded. Rodgers knows that Judon will be somebody they need to watch out for.
“He’s got three sacks and 91’s (Deatrich Wise) got four, so they got a good pass rush,” Rodgers said in a video shared by FanNation, via NESN’s Adam London. “Plus, they give you a ton of different looks, you know, with empty pressures, adjustments, checks of their own, delayed blitzes, spying — lot of different things they can do. So, we got to be aware of where he’s at because he’s a game-wrecker.”
The pass-rush will need to come to play on Sunday, as the Patriots look to get back into the win column. Steadying the ship will be important in a tight AFC East division.
