Packers go 5 consecutive games without scoring first-half touchdown

The Green Bay Packers extended their streak to five straight games without scoring a touchdown in the first half when they went into half-time down 10-3 to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

The last time the Packers scored a touchdown during the first 30 minutes of a game was in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Since then, or a span of five games, the Packers have scored three field goals — totaling nine points — and been outscored 73-9 during the first half.

The Vikings led 10-0 but Jordan Love converted a pair of third downs to create a 30-yard field goal as time expired in the second half. The Packers trail 10-3 and have trailed in each of the last five games at half time, including three deficits by two scores or more.

The five deficits:

— Down 17-0 to New Orleans Saints (win)
— Down 27-3 to Detroit Lions (loss)
— Down 10-3 to Las Vegas Raiders (loss)
— Down 9-0 to Denver Broncos (loss)
— Down 10-3 to Vikings (?)

The Packers did go on to eventually take a fourth-quarter lead in games against the Saints, Raiders and Broncos but ended up 1-2 in those three games.

On offense to start Sunday, the Packers went three-and-out and punted on their first three possessions and at one point had three times as many penalty yards as total yards.

The Packers are attempting to snap a three-game losing streak. They’ll need to overcome another deficit to do so on Sunday at Lambeau Field.
