Packers get picked apart by Baker Mayfield and Bucs in 34-20 loss

The Green Bay Packers allowed 381 passing yards and four touchdowns to Baker Mayfield and got beat convincingly by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

The 34-20 loss is the Packers’ second in a row after previously winning three straight.

Mayfield completed 22 of 28 passes and finished with a perfect 158.3 passer rating. Tampa Bay took a 3-0 lead early, led 13-10 at halftime and then blew the game open with touchdowns on three straight drives to open the second half.

The Packers allowed 452 total yards and eight conversions on third or fourth down. The Buccaneers averaged 7.5 yards per play, 10.7 yards per pass and 17.3 yards per completion, and four different receivers had a catch of 20 or more yards.

Chris Godwin and Mike Evans combined to catch 14 passes for 212 yards and a touchdown.

Jordan Love tossed a pair of touchdown passes, but he also missed on a fourth down throw in the red zone and lost a fumble. The Packers were 0-for-2 on fourth down and finished 2-for-5 scoring touchdowns inside the 20-yard line.

Rookie receiver Dontayvion Wicks set career highs in catches (six) and receiving yards (97), while rookie receiver Jayden Reed scored a touchdown for the fifth time in six games.

The loss drops the Packers to 6-8. Green Bay has lost back-to-back games after getting to .500 with wins over the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs to finish November and open December.

Up next for the Packers is a trip to play the Carolina Panthers, who are 2-12 after beating the Atlanta Falcons 9-7 on Sunday.
